Late summer, am I right? It’s hard to catch, feels like the part of the year that gets swept up with the start of other things. But it’s soooo good — these kinds of photos are reminders of why I love my job. It’s one of the best ways to soak up the seasons, to notice the beginnings and ends of them all. When your job depends on the weather, and the time the sun sets and rises, the colors of the leaves and the grass, when the flowers are in bloom and where the sun sets over the mountain… you have to notice. I’m so glad for that detail.
Now, Hannah and Derek were super easy to be around and full of fun conversation to wander through. We talked music, and mutual friends, Jesus and what we think about Portland. It was easy to wade in and out movements and ways to photograph their personalities. And I’m a sucker for a good sunset, rich blues and greens in the mountains, and people who inspire me. Which is just what this was.
