These photographs are the essence of early summer days, bright green grass, spring air flowing through open windows and bright sun waking us all from weeks of gray. Jessi and Colin have always been a couple I admired and have found thorough peace in my interactions with. They just seem to have found, in some ways, the rhythms we all hope for. Joy in the simple things, cherishing the everyday with your love, and contentment in what God’s given them and put before them.
These photographs were a farewell to their first home together in Monmouth — where they picked the lilacs from the front yard, redid a backyard to make space for BBQ’s and birthday parties, scrabble in the living room on easy evenings, plenty of cups of coffee, and puppy cuddles. We listened to Mat Kearney’s new album all morning and talked of their favorite memories in Monmouth.
Small towns and remodeled homes and thoughtful decor are the kinds of things that light my eyes up — you’ll notice lots of details in this gallery of those three elements. Enjoy!
